Terms of service · effective 18 September 2026
Clear terms.
Clear boundaries.
These Terms govern your access to TrimLayer’s website, dashboard, context optimization API, MCP tools and related services. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them.
1. The service
TrimLayer analyzes supplied context and may return a smaller context for use in a customer-controlled workflow. Depending on the selected policy and safety checks, context may be optimized, returned unchanged or paired with bounded exact-recovery metadata. TrimLayer does not accept model-provider credentials or call a model provider on the customer’s behalf. TrimLayer is an optimization service, not a model provider, legal adviser or guarantor of model output.
Features may be identified as preview, beta or experimental. Those features may change, be rate-limited or be withdrawn and should not be used as the sole control for high-risk decisions.
2. Accounts and credentials
- You must provide accurate registration information, be legally able to accept these Terms and keep account details current.
- You are responsible for activity under your workspace and for protecting passwords and TrimLayer project keys.
- Project keys must not be embedded in public client code or shared outside the authorized workspace.
- Notify [email protected] promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
We may require email verification, suspend compromised credentials, revoke sessions or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users.
3. Customer content and instructions
You retain ownership of prompts, documents, code, tool output and other content you submit. You grant TrimLayer a limited right to process that content only to provide, secure and troubleshoot the service and to comply with law. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to submit the content and instruct its processing.
You control the selected model provider and compatible endpoints. Their charges, retention practices, terms and outputs are separate from TrimLayer. Do not submit regulated or highly sensitive data unless your plan, configuration and agreements expressly support it.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use the service to violate law or third-party rights; distribute malware; probe or bypass security or rate limits; access another tenant’s data; resell credentials; overload the service; or build a competing service through unauthorized scraping or reverse engineering. Reasonable interoperability, security research conducted with written authorization and rights that cannot lawfully be restricted remain unaffected.
5. Plans, quotas and billing
Published or dashboard plan details define included processed-input-token capacity, request limits, project limits and support level. Usage is measured on input submitted for optimization, including requests safely returned unchanged where the plan states processed-input-token billing. Excess usage may be rejected, rate-limited or handled under an agreed overage plan.
Paid subscriptions renew for the period shown at checkout unless cancelled before renewal. Fees, taxes and payment timing are shown before purchase or in an order form. Payments are generally non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated in an order form. Model-provider usage is billed separately by that provider.
6. Availability and changes
We work to operate the service reliably, but unless a signed order form or service-level agreement says otherwise, the service is provided without a guaranteed uptime commitment. Maintenance, emergencies, provider outages, abuse controls and legal requirements may affect availability. We may modify features or limits; material changes that adversely affect a paid plan will be communicated in advance where reasonably possible.
7. Intellectual property and feedback
TrimLayer and its software, design, documentation and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. These Terms grant only the limited, non-exclusive right to use the service during your subscription. If you provide feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or payment, without identifying you publicly unless you agree.
8. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the service at any time and may request account deletion. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, non-payment, security risk, unlawful use or conduct that threatens the service or others. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to cure. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including payment, ownership, disclaimers and liability limits—continue after termination.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is” and “as available.” Optimization, recovery and safety checks reduce risk but do not guarantee completeness, savings, model accuracy or suitability for a particular purpose. You remain responsible for reviewing outputs and applying appropriate human oversight.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrimLayer is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or lost-profit damages. TrimLayer’s aggregate liability arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid for the service during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not exclude liability that cannot legally be limited, including mandatory consumer rights.
10. Contract and updates
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the plan shown at checkout and any signed order form form the agreement. A signed order form controls if it expressly conflicts with these Terms. Applicable mandatory law remains unaffected. We may update these Terms for legal, security or product reasons; material changes will be announced, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance where permitted by law.
